In his address to the state on Monday, the Prime Minister said the planet is fighting against the coronavirus consistent with their capacity. He said the only country that has remained successful so far during this struggle is China that put 20 million people under lockdown to beat the killer bug. He said if Pakistan had similar situation like China, he could have pack up the entire cities. However, twenty five percent of our population lives under the poverty level and extra one-fifth is on the borderline.
Imran Khan said no lockdown are often successful if people become unemployed and don't have anything to eat. He said corona virus does not distinguish between rich and poor and everyone will have to play their role in its success.
The Prime Minister said we've to fight this war wisely and sagacity.
Imran Khan said our biggest strength is faith which has made Pakistan one among the foremost charitable nations within the world. The Prime Minister said youth are our second strength which will build the longer term of the state .
Imran Khan announced establishment of Corona Relief Tiger Force which will add collaboration with civil administration and military to contain the spread of corona virus. He said a cell is functioning within the PM Office around the clock to watch things closely.
He said during a week’s time situation are going to be clear regarding the spread of virus. The Prime Minister said the volunteers of Tiger Force will help deliver food to areas under lock down, besides disseminating awareness to the general public .
The Prime Minister said people must be clear that the corona virus is more dangerous to elderly people and persons with underlying health conditions and it's not a social stigma.
The Prime Minister also announced Corona Relief Fund at national bank of Pakistan where charitable contributions are often made. The contributions also will be tax free and tax incentives are going to be given to tax filing persons. The account number is 4162 786 786.
Imran Khan said Pakistan’s relief package is around 8 billion dollars which may be further enhanced counting on needs.
He said it's been decided that depository financial institution of Pakistan will give loans to such industries on low markup that don't lay off their employees.
Imran Khan said Facebook page of Ehsaas program will explain about the areas where people are in most need, in order that people can make decisions to offer charity based on transparent information.
The Prime Minister warned that strict action are going to be taken against the hoarders and profiteers, and that they are going to be given an exemplary punishment, besides holding them liable for the misery of individuals .
